EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

Our new first year Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) have come from near and far, choosing the Northern Rivers to begin their medical careers (some grew up locally and are returning “home”).

This week we welcomed our first cohorts of new graduate nurses and midwives to our District for 2024. In total, we’ll be welcoming more than 190 new grads this year– our largest group ever!

Our seven new nurses have completed the 2023 Mental Health Transition to Practice Graduate program.

25 plus years of service

Pretty much every team at Ballina District Hospital was represented in recent ceremonies acknowledging staff who have worked with NSW Health for 10 plus years.

In small towns and villages, your workplace often feels like a family.

And in our Multi-Purpose Services (MPS) it’s quite literally a family affair with multiple generations of healthcare workers under one roof.

Congratulations to Samantha Osbourne, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) Coordinator in the Clarence Valley, who was recently acknowledged in NSW parliament.
