Eligible members of the public aged 40 and over, as well as other priority groups, can now get vaccinated against COVID-19 at a new clinic at the Tweed Mall.
Starting Tuesday 15 June, the clinic will be open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4pm. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling 1800 438 829 (1800 GET VAX) for people who are eligible after visiting the online COVID-19 eligibility checker at www.health.gov.au.
Northern NSW Local Health District Chief Executive, Wayne Jones, said the clinic is an additional avenue for people who cannot access the vaccine through their usual General Practitioner (GP).
“We’re excited to be opening this new clinic, making it easier for people to come forward and get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“We’ve seen a great response to the shopping centre clinic we recently opened in Lismore, and we look forward to being able to provide the same quick and easy vaccination process for people in the Tweed.
“I encourage everyone who is eligible to get a vaccination to do so as soon as possible.”
Anyone in NSW aged 50 and over can book to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine by visiting www.health.gov.au.
People aged 40-49, and those aged of 16 to 39 who are eligible through the Australian Government priority groups 1a and 1b, can book to receive the Pfizer vaccine at www.health.gov.au.
The COVID-19 vaccination clinic is located in Shop 23, next to Aldi in the Tweed Mall, Wharf Street, Tweed Heads.
